My own story is of a missed recruiting opportunity at the Ivy League institution, University of Pennsylvania. I was contacted by the softball team and encouraged to apply ED. What happened? Well, I ultimately rowed for Rutgers University. What should have happened? I should have contacted my HS pitcher (and neighbor!) who was likely the reason they scouted me as a catcher.
